We're not trying to list every restaurant in town. We list the places that make an evening easy for someone organizing a group: the right room, the right distance, and the right feel for work.
A private or semi-private space, or a format built for teams. Somewhere you can seat eight without pushing tables together.
Near the convention centre, the business hotels, or the arena, so nobody loses the evening to a cab ride.
You can hear each other, it suits a mixed crowd, and it's somewhere you'd be comfortable putting on the company card.
Takes group reservations, ideally with a set menu or a private room you can lock in ahead.
Each pick shows the date it was last checked. Closures and changes get fixed or removed.
Places marked "Tested by Off the Clock" are ones we've taken a group to ourselves, with a note on how it went.
Each city has a trip planner and monthly pages listing home games, major conferences and holidays, with our advice on when to book.
Anyone can tell us how a place worked for their group. We review every report before it appears. We publish notes that help other planners, like room size, noise, service and billing. We leave out personal attacks, anything about individual staff, and anything we can't stand behind. Reports never change a pick on their own, but they tell us where to look next.
$$ about 40–70, $$$ about 70–120, $$$$ 120 and up, per person with a drink. Estimates in local currency.
$$ about 30–60, $$$ about 60–120, $$$$ 120 and up, per person. Where we know the actual price, we show it instead.
Picks are chosen on merit. Venues can't pay to be picked or to change what we say about them. Some links may earn us a commission when you book, which never affects what we recommend. If we ever offer featured placements, they'll be clearly labelled "Featured partner" and kept separate from our picks.
